Where will the football teams stay, train for the Qatar 2022 World Cup? | Soccer News

The Qatar 2022 World Cup will start on November 21 and the final will take place on December 18.

Three-quarters of the World Cup squads in Qatar this year will be based within 10km (six miles) of each other, the world football governing body said when announcing the hotels and venues training for 32 teams.

Unlike previous tournaments, each team will stay in the same hotel and use the same training base throughout the tournament.

“Players will have more time to train and rest during competition while being able to experience the excitement that will take over the country much closer as fellow players and passionate fans from all 32 nations will congregate in one area. “, said Colin Smith, director of operations for FIFA – World Cup.

The tournament, which will be played in eight stadiums, will start on November 21 and the final will take place on December 18.

FIFA said accommodation ranged “from four and five star hotels to villas, resorts and non-hotel accommodation, including sports academy residences and school/university accommodation”.

“As with all of our World Cup projects, legacy planning has been a key factor and many of the renovated and constructed training venues will benefit clubs and local communities long after the tournament is over. The new hotels will support also Qatar’s growing tourism industry after 2022,” said Nasser al-Khater, CEO of Qatar 2022.

More than one million fans are expected in Qatar for the tournament.
