Step One Automotive Group invites community to participate in HSU
FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla., October 21, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – On Thursday, October 28, the community is invited to HSU Innovation Institute, 709 Anchors Street at 3 p.m., to meet and attend FIA Formula 3 driver JM Correa at a presentation where the advanced robotics team at HSU Werx will present Correa with their design plans for an autonomous electric vehicle. These high school students participate in the Electric Vehicle Building Competition, an event sponsored by Step One Automotive Group and Suncoast Transmissions, which involves two teams competing to build an electric vehicle from scratch.
JM Correa is an Ecuadorian-American racing driver who grew up in Miami and currently competes in the ART Grand Prix in Formula 3 FIA. returned to Europe this year to participate in the 2021 FIA Formula 3 Championship.
JM’s passion, commitment and unwavering determination have allowed him to be part of a very small number of drivers competing in the elite and exclusive club of the F3 and F2 feeder series. These same characteristics are the reason JM now inspires a lot with one of the most incredible returns in motorsport history.
Correa will visit the Emerald Coast as part of a partnership with race sponsor Step One Automotive Group from Monday October 25 to Thursday October 28, 2021. He will participate in a week of activities in the region, including visits to two local schools to talk to kids about overcoming adversity; and a full day at the 7th Special Forces Group reunion with active duty members, some of whom are overcoming their own injuries.
âAlways involved in my own recovery process, I am both keenly aware of the struggle many military and veterans face and have first-hand experience with the challenges of recovery and retraining,â Correa said. “I can’t wait to meet many of these Forever Warriors.”
Step One Automotive Group’s Forever Warriors initiative unites transitioning military personnel and their families with local business partners to ease the burden these heroes endure as they transition from military to civilian life.
The main goal is to bridge the gap between these transitioning warriors and local partners to help with employment and educational opportunities, as well as physical and mental well-being and awareness.
Although Forever Warriors was originally designed around Step One’s support for the military, serving in the military is not required to meet the definition of a warrior. Police, first responders, medical workers, and anyone honorably navigating an overwhelming struggle or conflict in their lives also meet the criteria for a Forever Warrior.
JM Correa will share his own experiences while visiting Northwest Florida and his personal message for achieving his goals: âHappiness is possible in any physical condition, what you need is find a goal â.
